Naga Munchetty meltdown: BBC Breakfast star's confusion over James Bond exposed
NAGA MUNCHETTY was left red-faced during BBC Breakfast when she stuttered and stumbled over her words during a segment about James Bond star Daniel Craig, unearthed accounts reveal.
Naga Munchetty mistakes Daniel Craig for Craig David in 2015
Naga Munchetty is part of the BBC Breakfast line-up alongside Dan Walker, Carol Kirkwood and others. During her time on the flagship morning show, she has suffered a number of unfortunate on-air gaffes and regularly been called out on social media. One eagle-eyed viewer noticed a small yet amusing mistake during one BBC broadcast when she got Daniel Craig, star of James Bond ‘No Time To Die’, ever so slightly wrong.
Naga was discussing the release of 007 flick ‘Spectre’ when the unlucky TV blunder happened back in 2015.
The film starred a number of big celebrity names including Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Wishaw, Naomie Harris and of course Daniel Craig.
But when Naga tried to pronounce the name of the actor who played the fictional British secret agent she seemed to be lost for words.
The host said: “Kate, does this bond stay in the modern age, we’ve seen quite a lot of that in Craig David…”
Recognising her error, she mumbled and said “erm” as she seemed to be desperately wracking her mind for the actor’s name.
She appeared flushed and stared down at the couch before she continued: “...in the films lately, does it still say very much in the present?”
Naga’s unfortunate confusion was between the now-legendary actor Daniel Craig – who will reprise the role for a final time later this year – and R&B singer Craig David.
The performer is best-known for tracks including ‘7 Days’, ‘Fill Me In’ and ‘Walking Away’.
Naga later laughed it off on Twitter, when she posted a horrified emoji and wrote: “It happens! Silly me.”

Craig David joined the conversation when he quipped: “When you know the new music is about to drop it's hard to think straight."
Others on social media commented that the host “must be as tired” and others wrote puns about the singer’s ‘7 Days’ lyrics.
One tweeted: “That nice lady on BBC Breakfast just said Craig David instead of Daniel Craig. Well, he does act like James Bond from Wednesday to Saturday."
Another added: "Craig David WOULD be a good Bond. Let's make it happen people."
