GOOD MORNING BRITAIN hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid interviewed Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York this morning to discuss her charity, Street Child, but Piers had other ideas.
Sarah Ferguson trashes suggestion of Prince Andrew remarriage
Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan was eager to speak to Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York about everything he could.
While he began the interview speaking about her charity Street Child, he eventually went on to speak about Princess Diana, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and the recent royal weddings.
However Piers was not granted all of the information he wanted, as he began to inquire about Sarah’s relationship with her ex-husband Prince Andrew.
Piers asked: “There are lots of people wondering about your relationship with your ex husband - are there any flickers of love?
Sarah was bemused by the inquiry, to which she simply replied: “Oh you’re such a romantic!”
But Piers was adamant to get an answer as he continued to repeat the question.
Eventually the Duchess announced: “Oh Piers, get a life!” leaving the hosts laughing.
She went on to add Prince Andrew “is different, and I’m different.”
Prior to this conversation Duchess Sarah spoke about summer’s string of Royal Weddings, and how Diana the Princess of Wales would have felt about them.
On the weddings of Prince Harry and Prince William Duchess Sarah said: “She would have loved every moment of [them].
“Diana would have literally been going ‘I can’t believe these boys did so well!’”
The Duchess went on to admit: “I miss her, I miss her.
“She had this enormous compassion. I honestly think she’d be so proud of the wonderful Meghan.”
The Duchess went on to talk about the impact the modern age of social media will have on her daughters.
She added that she tells her children: ”I often say to my girls: I’ve been there made the mistakes so they know what not to do.
“All I say to my girls is be who you are. 50 per cent of the people like you the other don’t. Stand firm with integrity.”
Earlier in the show Piers spoke about a lunch he had with Duchess Sarah years ago.
He said: “We had a lunch once that went on for hours and hours.”
Piers added it was “one of the funniest lunches” he ever had, and continued: “She is not discrete and [is] unlike other Royals.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
