Celebrity Big Brother 2018: Why did Roxane Pallett leave the house?
CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER 2018 has been rocked by controversy after it was confirmed that Roxanne Pallett has left the house.
CBB: Roxanne says 'I want to LEAVE' over eviction
Why did Roxanne Pallett leave Celebrity Big Brother?
The Emmerdale star, 35, has now left the Channel 5 reality series.
A representative for Pallett told Express.co.uk: "Roxanne decided to leave the CBB house late last night after deliberating for two days with some sensitive issues she felt strongly about.
"She has now been reunited with her fiancé and family and thanks everyone for their support during her time in the show."
A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother told Express.co.uk: “Roxanne has decided to leave the BB House. The remaining housemates have been informed.”
Palette’s exit comes after she claimed that she was punched by fellow housemate and ex-Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas during a play fight.
The actress initially appeared to take the incident as a joke as she playfully referred to Thomas as a “woman beater”.
She told him: “That b***y hurt”, leading the star to reply: “Did it? Sorry.”
Pallett went to the Diary Room afterwards where she said: “Big Brother, can I talk to a producer, please? I want to talk to a member of the production team.
“He punched me like a boxer would punch a bag.
“I can’t believe you’re letting someone stay because of that.”
Pallett broke down and said say she felt “uncomfortable” sleeping in the same room as Thomas, 34, and was given permission to sleep in the spare room.
Meanwhile, Thomas was issued a formal warning by Big Brother for the incident.
Thomas apologised, saying: "I think we both know, and Roxanne, that there was no malice or anger in anything I did."
Ofcom has received around 11,000 complaints about the incident and the media watchdog will now decide whether or not to uphold them.
A spokesperson for Ofcom said: “We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate.”
Pallett’s departure comes as housemate Ben Jardine was evicted from the house.
Jardine, 36, and Pallett had a conversation about the incident with the Married At First Sight star shortly before he left.
The reality star appeared to be shocked as Pallett recounted the incident.
However, following his eviction, Jardine was shown the clip to which he said: “She’s laughed it off [in the footage], I feel like I’ve been mugged right off again.
“I’m such a mug, I always fall for it.
“I just try to do the right thing by saying ‘right, it’s not right to do that’.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues on Channel 5 tonight at 10pm
