A beautiful seaside town known for its scenic coastline, historical sites, and charming town centre is a perfect day trip but without the crowds. Deal in Kent is just 16 miles away from the popular Margate seaside town but hardly has any tourists.

Nicknamed ‘Margate’s little sister’, the town is situated on the southeast coast of England, facing the English Channel.

It lies approximately 8 miles northeast of Dover and about 15 miles south of Ramsgate.

The town supports a variety of independent shops, boutiques, and markets, contributing to its local economy.

It offers a variety of recreational activities, including walking along the beachfront, exploring historical sites, and enjoying water sports.

Its rich heritage, cultural vibrancy, and scenic beauty contribute to its unique charm. It boasts a range of restaurants, cafes, and pubs, many of which offer fresh seafood and local produce.

The town is accessible via the A258 road, connecting it to nearby towns and cities.

Nearby Dover offers ferry services to France, enhancing Deal's connectivity to mainland Europe.

The fast train from St Pancras International takes 1 hour 22 minutes from London.

One of the travellers who visited Deal's Beach wrote on TripAdvisor: "Just a lovely place to enjoy the vast sea, even though it’s actually the narrow part of the English Channel & the North Sea.

"Lots of coffee shops, ice cream parlour, watering holes, restaurants and shops galore with unique items."

A second user commented: "The beach and promenade at Deal provide great views of the channel and France on good days. It is good for a long stroll and there is an uninspiring pier.

"The beach is pebbly although on the land side there is plenty of parkland. Deal town has narrow roads full of small cottages but is otherwise not particularly memorable. Nevertheless, it is a genuine old-fashioned seaside resort which is refreshing to visit."
