Princess Charlotte’s children WON'T have royal title but George’s will due to dated rule
PRINCESS Charlotte’s future children are unlikely to be given official royal titles, but her brother Prince George’s offspring will have HRH status.
Princess Charlotte's children will not be given a HRH status
This is because there is only two ways to become a princess, you either have to marry a prince or be the daughter of one.
And the children of Princess Charlotte will not become a prince or princess because titles are inherited through sons, and not daughters.
Kate became a princess when she married Prince William and Charlotte inherited the title when she was born as the prince’s daughter.
Lucy Hume, associate director of etiquette experts Debrett’s said: "Royal titles are inherited through sons, so if Princess Charlotte has children they would not automatically inherit the titles HRH, Prince, or Princess."

Princess Charlotte is not the first exception, Princess Anne’s children Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips do not have HRH status, whereas Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie do.
However the rule doesn’t mean it cannot be changed.
Ms Humes told Town & Country: “The monarch may offer to bestow a royal title upon his or her daughter’s children.
“For Peter and Zara Phillips, the Queen offered to give them a royal title when they were born, but Princess Anne and Captain Phillips opted to decline this offer.”

And when Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex had their children Lady Louise and James Viscount Severn, they said it was a “clear personal wish” not to give them a HRH status.
It comes as Express.co.uk revealed why Kate would prefer a home birth to welcome her third royal baby into the world - but won’t.
