THE Queen has visited Canada House to celebrate the country's 150th anniversary of Confederation.

She was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh to mark the unification of the British colonies of Canada in 1867 during the visit to the building at Trafalgar Square today.
During the visit they viewed artefacts and displays, including items from the Royal Archives and the National Maritime Museum's exhibition, Death In The Ice, which explores Sir John Franklin's final Arctic expedition.

The Queen and the Duke also met young Canadians, business leaders, artists, entrepreneurs and members of indigenous communities, before the presentation of a 150th anniversary of Confederation gift.
After signing the visitors' book, the Queen and the Duke unveiled a new Jubilee walkway panel outside Canada House.
