Prince William's extended family just got a little bigger as Maddison May Brudenell, the great-granddaughter of Lord Mountbatten, has introduced her baby son.

Maddison, a third cousin of Princes William and Harry, shared her family's joyful news along with details of her upcoming wedding.

The new parents, Maddison and her fiancé Bret Kapetanov, welcomed their son Michael Adam on August 6th.

Named after Maddison’s paternal grandfather, Michael Brudenell, who was a royal obstetrician, baby Michael weighed 8lb 4oz at birth.

The newborn's name holds deep family significance, reflecting their strong ties to their royal heritage.

The birth, which took place at the couple's home, was not without drama.

Maddison recalled the harrowing moment when the umbilical cord snapped after a lengthy 40-hour labour.

"I lifted him out of the water and held him to my chest, and then I heard a snap, it was very alarming," she told Hello! Magazine.

Both mother and baby were rushed to the hospital following the incident, but fortunately, they are both now doing well.

Maddison, a former Ralph Lauren model, also opened up about her whirlwind romance with Bret, a Canadian millwright.

The couple met during Maddison's trip to Windsor, Ontario, and Bret moved across the Atlantic soon after proposing.

“Our family feels complete," Maddison said, reflecting on their journey together.

The interview with Hello! took place in an Oxfordshire mansion that was once owned by Maddison's grandparents - Lady Pamela Hicks, a cousin of the late Duke of Edinburgh and former lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II, and interior designer David Hicks.

Maddison’s aunt, India Hicks, is also well-known as a designer and former model.

Maddison shared that Lady Pamela is "very proud" of her new grandson-in-law, admiring Bret’s respectful nature and his ability to blend into the family's world.
