Prince George’s first school is offering an “unprecedented” 100 free places when it opens a new senior school next year.

Thomas’s Schools says its “unique” scheme will show that independent schools are a “force for good”. George, now 11, attended Thomas’s Battersea, one of four prep schools run by the family-run group, for five years, joining in 2017.

His sister Charlotte followed in his footsteps two years later. They left in 2022 to attend co-ed Lambrook in Berkshire when their family moved to Windsor.

Will le Fleming, who will head the senior school when it opens in London next September, said the places will be available to the “most talented” children “irrespective of their background”. They will form a third of the initial intake.
