She did it! Pippa Middleton is all smiles after completing 3,000 mile US bike challenge
THE challenge has been completed by less than 200 people in it's 32-year history, but last night Pippa Middleton was added to that list as she finished Race Across America 2014.
The 30-year-old sister of the Duchess of Cambridge was pictured cycling over the finish line in Annapolis, Maryland, last night alongside her brother James and couldn't have looked happier.
Wearing her cycling gear and a GB jacket, Pippa grinned for the cameras as she held up her medal following the gruelling adventure.
She and James set off on the bike ride from San Diego, California, last Saturday night and were clearly determined to cross 12 states in just one week.
Of course, the pair have caught a serious tan along the way and James was also sporting a very bushy beard.
They took part in the challenge on behalf of the Michael Matthews Foundation with six other individuals.
The Michael Matthews Foundation is an educational charity which was established in memory of Michael’s brother, who died on a descent from Mount Everest in 1999.
According to reports, Pippa trained for the epic challenge for quite some time and in January she revealed that she had purchased clip-in shoes which allow her to pedal faster.
Writing in her Daily Telegraph column, she said: "The major advantage of clip-in (or ‘clipless’, their proper and confusing name) bikes…is that because the shoe is attached to the pedal you can pull up as well as push down.
"This makes a huge difference to power and efficiency and goes some way to explaining the warp speed of many urban cyclists."
