Meghan Markle's major U-turn about her children's royal titles due to key conversation
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, wanted her children Archie and Lilibet to keep hold of their royal titles despite the fact they no longer live in the UK.
Meghan Markle reportedly wanted her children to keep their official royal titles after a chat with two senior members of the Royal Family.
Although the duchess and her husband Prince Harry decided to step away from the Royal Family in 2020 and relocate to California, the couple seemingly did not want to cut all ties with the Palace.
This was seen in 2023 when Meghan and Harry decided that they wanted their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, to adopt royal titles, despite the fact that Meghan and Harry can no longer use HRH titles.
The couple, who still go by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are believed to have made this decision after speaking to close relatives Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, Harry’s cousins.
This is despite the fact that in their bombshell chat with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, Meghan said she didn't have any "attachment" to the "grandeur" of royal life.

However, a royal expert has now claimed that the couple changed their minds and wanted to hold onto their children’s royal titles for some very clear reasons.
OK reports that Neil Sean said: "Harry and Meghan are very, very keen to cling onto those royal titles. After much deliberation, Meghan decided that the titles would be a good thing, not just for her but for both her children too.
“Meghan become very friendly with senior members of the monarchy, predominately Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
"After this, Meghan realised how useful a title can be, particularly when you want to move in the correct circles. That is the reason why they want to clutch hold of titles."

Despite the fact Archie and Lilibet have these titles, they are still living an ordinary childhood in California miles away from their father’s side of the family in the UK.
Although King Charles is reportedly trying to form a relationship with his grandchildren, the distance between them has acted as a huge barrier, with Meghan reportedly not keen to return to the UK with the children any time soon.
Prince Harry visited his home country last week for a solo engagement, however he did not see any members of his family during this time despite being on speaking terms with his father.
Meghan stayed at the couple's Montecito home with their two children.
