Sarah Ferguson's three-word remark on late Queen as she opens up on 'legend of a lady'
In a heartfelt sit-down interview with Channel 5, Sarah Ferguson paid a moving tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
In a candid interview with Channel 5, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York paid a moving tribute to the late Queen and opened up about her relationship with her mother-in-law.
Speaking to the news host, Dan Walker, she shared her memories of the two walking the corgis together, praised the late Queen's commitment to the country, and said she still inspires her.
In a simple three-word quip, Fergie spoke of the late Queen, stating: "That's the boss".
The Duchess of York praised the work ethic of Queen Elizabeth, stating she inspired the nation throughout her reign. She explained: "The whole nation is down to the 72 years of work and commitment that the Queen gave us all, the value system, the culture, the integrity to do what’s right, to hold the line. That’s the boss."
News host, Dan, further questioned Sarah, asking, "So she still inspires you?" to which the Duchess of York replied: "Every minute".

Speaking openly about her mother-in-law, Fergie sweetly labelled the late Queen as the "granny of the nation".
She further explained: "She was the granny of the nation, and I could only dream to aspire to be the wonderful grandmother she was to my girls, and I think that we owe it to HM [Her Majesty]. I call her HM. We owe it to HM to keep never forgetting the extraordinary legacy. I mean I’m just, it’s fantastic."
When the late Queen passed away in September 2022, it was only natural that many wondered what would become of her two remaining four-legged friends.
It was revealed they would reside in the Royal Lodge in Windsor with Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew. Since then, the Duchess has regularly shared snaps of the canine duo along with updates on how they are keeping.
Mentioning the furry friends, Sarah said: "I walk the dogs, the Corgis. I’m sure, when they bark, they’re barking talking to her [Queen Elizabeth II]. I want them to be barking talking to her."

Sarah Ferguson has shared the initial terror she felt after being handed a double cancer diagnosis, fearing it spelt a "death sentence". However, she now attributes her survival to the timely check-ups and medical care she received and is passionately advocating for the importance of not missing health screenings.
In another appearance on TV, on ITV’s This Morning, Sarah praised the King and Princess Kate for their strength as they both continue to undergo cancer treatment. The Duchess of York, 64, was on the show to discuss her new children's book, Flora and Fern: Wonder in the Woods, where chat got onto her own personal struggle with cancer.
It comes as Kate made a surprise appearance during a visit to Southport alongside the Prince of Wales, to meet the families of the three girls who died following the tragic knife attack in July.
