Meghan Markle opens up on suicidal thoughts in CBS interview

Meghan Markle allegedly "threw a bit of a strop" after she was asked an "unexpected" question during her latest sit-down interview for CBS.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared on CBS's Sunday Morning show to promote their latest project - The Parents Network - which aims to tackle child safety online and connect families who have lost their children to suicide due to a lack of safeguarding online.

CBS host Jane Pauley told the duchess: "I'm dancing around this [Meghan's mental health claims] because I can see you're uncomfortable with me even going there."

To which Meghan replied: "I understand why you are though. I wasn't expecting it, but I understand why you are. When you've been through any level of pain or trauma, I believe part of our healing journey, certainly mine, is to be able to be really open about it. I haven't really scraped the surface of my experience but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way. And I would never want someone else to be making those sorts of plans and I would never want someone else not to be believed. So, if me voicing what I have overcome will save someone, or encourage someone in their life to really genuinely check in on them, and not assume that the appearance is good and so everything is okay, then that’s worth it. I’ll take a hit for that."

But broadcaster Dan Wootton was critical of the duchess's interview and asked royal author Angela Levin on his Dan Wootton Outspoken programme: "It certainly wasn't a good 43rd birthday for the Duchess of Sussex, was it? For their first sit-down together since Oprah Winfrey, back on CBS with another experienced American TV professional...despite all that, it was a real car crash."

Ms Levin said: "I imagine that's the sort of question, she wasn't there for that, because she said 'I did not expect this'. But you could see she couldn’t contain her anger and fury."

Zara Tindall's hilarious six-word comment when dropping her kids off at Princess Anne's

Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, is not only known for her steadfast dedication to public service and her strong work ethic but also for the close and nurturing relationships she maintains with her grandchildren.

As a mother of two and grandmother of five, Princess Anne has found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, a role that allows her to connect deeply with the younger generation of the Royal Family.

It seems Zara Tindall and her brother, Peter Phillips, enjoy dropping their children to Anne's 700-acre Gloucestershire estate when they can.

In an ITV documentary aired in 2020, titled 'Anne: The Princess Royal at 70', Zara Tindall used a hilarious six-worded phrase to describe what happens when she drops her children off, she said: "We quite like leaving them on Sundays. We'll say, 'We'll pick them up later, bye.'"

Queen Elizabeth's favourite £50m diamond brooch she loved so much she gave it a nickname

We don't think of Queen Elizabeth having nicknames for her accessories but it seems some of her jewels had an extra special place in the late monarch's heart.

Queen Elizabeth had one particular item that she loved so much, she gave it a cute nickname – a stunning diamond brooch that's considered to be the world's most valuable.

The stunning item has sentimental value too, having been passed from generation to generation, and been gifted to her from her grandmother, Queen Mary.

Prince Harry and William would not be at war if Princess Diana was alive, says expert

Royal expert Richard Kay says the late Princess Diana would have been 'broken-hearted' about Prince William and Prince Harry's feud.

Mr Kay, who is editor-at-large for the Daily Mail newspaper, told the Mail+'s weekly talk show Palace Confidential that if Princess Diana was still alive, the 'tussle' between her two sons would not exist.

Tensions between the Princes have deteriorated since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their roles as senior working royals in 2020.

Mr Kay, who was a close friend of Princess Diana and would speak with her up to six times a day, said Princes Harry and William have been fighting over her 'legacy'.

He told Palace Confidential: "[They've] been tussling over Diana's legacy, they've been pulling apart Diana's legacy, [and picking] which part suits them best. I think it's a great tragedy...."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'woo back' American fans with 'slam dunk'

In their second television interview on American soil since their explosive 2021 conversation with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex discussed a new initiative aimed at safeguarding children from online abuse.

The interview, aired on CBS with Jane Pauley, follows the recent launch of their 'Parents Network', designed to assist parents in protecting their children from cyber abuse.

Since their contentious departure from the Royal Family and relocation to the US in 2020, the Sussexes had anticipated a warmer reception stateside, despite their Oprah interview causing a stir on both sides of the Atlantic.

Although initially well-received in America, the ex-Royals have seen their popularity decline recently. They faced further backlash last month when Prince Harry accepted the ESPY Pat Tillman Award.

Prince William's present to Princess Kate that 'didn't go well'

Prince William has revealed a present he once bought for Princess Kate that "didn't go well" - despite him believing it was a "good idea at the time".

The Prince and Princess of Wales met in 2001 while they were both studying at St. Andrews University in Scotland. A decade later on April 29, 2011, they married at Westminster Abbey in London.

There is no doubt that over the years, William will always pick out something special for Princess Kate.

However, he admitted that one present he bought her in the early days of their relationship didn't seem to go down well at all.

The couple, who now live in the US, opened up about their own struggles with mental health and loss and had a candid conversation about their experiences.

The Duchess of Sussex joined her husband Prince Harry for a new interview on CBS's Sunday Morning show with host Jane Pauley to announce their latest project, The Parents' Network.

During the interview, the duchess opened up about her fears regarding online dangers when it came to her children, but she also spoke about her own mental health struggles as a member of the Royal Family.

Now Renae Smith, founder and director of The Atticism, has weighed in on whether Meghan's decision to bring up her mental health struggles from the past will have a positive impact on the couple's newly announced project and whether it could further damage their ongoing rift with the Royal Family.

Meghan Markle 'upset' the late Queen by refusing to follow two very important royal rules

There are plenty of rules royals have to follow and when Meghan Markle joined the monarchy, she had to grapple with all the new protocols.

But the Duchess of Sussex, who dropped her HRH title after she moved to the States with Prince Harry, broke some of those rules which is said to have upset the late Queen Elizabeth.

One of those rules is to wear nude tights under dresses and skirts, but Meghan preferred to go without.

Royal expert Victoria Arbiter said this was surprisingly the Queen's most important rule, saying: "I would say that's really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires."

Meghan Markle's lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard suffers setback

Meghan Markle has suffered a major setback regarding the launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard (ARO), reports have claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex's latest business venture was anticipated to hit the shelves at some point in the near future, however, a trademark setback has put its launch on hold.

According to the Daily Mail, records in July showed that there were "irregularities" to be "corrected" regarding ARO's trademark, four months after it was requested to register it to the US Patents and Trademarks Office - the agency responsible for granting US patents and registering trademarks.

The outlet claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's lawyers have been notified of the various issues regarding ARO's trademark, which include "incorrect classification of yoga blankets, picnic baskets and recipe books".

The outlet claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's lawyers have been notified of the various issues regarding ARO's trademark, which include "incorrect classification of yoga blankets, picnic baskets and recipe books", with the fees, said to total around £9,000 ($11,382), due to various bodies around the world.

But the Daily Express understands that while American Riviera Orchard has received several Notices of Irregularity requesting clarifications on goods and services, as well as the reclassification of certain items, these are entirely normal and expected when filing international applications. All fees associated with these notices have already been paid by Meghan and no further action is required at this time.

Prince Harry and Meghan's surprisingly nice move to ensure they don't 'overshadow' William

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be considerate of Prince William and Princess Kate's work to ensure there is no "overlap" a royal author has claimed.

Since Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, they have embarked upon their own projects, such as the launch of Meghan's new lifestyle brand 'American Riviera Orchard'.

They have also recently announced a joint visit to Colombia later this year at the invitation of the country’s vice president Francia Marquez.

Royal author, Phil Dampier, told Fabulous Magazine that the Montecito-based duo have set up a "rival court" across the pond, but in a surprisingly nice move, have made sure their projects do not coincide with William and Kate's.

The one name Princess Kate asked her friends to call her before joining the Royal Family

The Princess of Wales reportedly asked her friends to refer to her as 'Catherine' instead of 'Kate' just before she married into the Royal Family, one expert claims.

According to royal expert Robert Jobson, this request led to further speculation that Prince William - who she began dating in the early 2000s - was set to propose.

In his book, 'Catherine, the Princess of Wales', Kate sent a "humorous email to her close friends".

The author wrote: "I hear that in the past few weeks, the former accessories buyer has quietly informed friends that she would like to drop the informal ‘Kate’ and in future wishes to be known by her full name: Catherine.”

King Charles not planning visits to riot hotspots as monarch follows late Queen's lead

King Charles isn't currently planning visits to riot-hit hotspots as the monarch follows the late Queen's lead in his response.

Royal sources have said Charles is being kept updated daily about the disorder which has plagued streets in England and Northern Ireland since three girls were fatally stabbed in Southport, Merseyside.

The Labour Government leads the response to the unrest, with Charles expected as monarch to stay out of politics.

Anti-monarchy group, Republic, has criticised the lack of response from the King, with its leader, Graham Smith, claiming that when the nation is in crisis, the monarch is "nowhere to be seen".
