Princess Kate's clever hack to make her 'tiny waist look even tinier' in her wedding dress
Princess Kate used a fashion trick to make her waist look smaller while still giving her shape in her 2011 wedding to Prince William.
Princess Kate awed us all in her stunning bridal gown during her 2011 wedding to Prince William.
And now we know the tricks she used to make her look even more stunning in the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dress.
Style expert Miranda Holder released a video saying that the Princess wore bum padding to accentuate her waist in a flattering way.
While admitting Kate didn't need the extra help as she already has a "tiny waist", Miss Holder said the designer Sarah Burton knows all about balance and proportion and what would complete the look.
The dress is estimated to have cost £250,000, making it one of the most expensive dresses ever made. Workers from The Royal School of Needlework worked on the dress, but they were actually told it was for a TV costume drama.

“So with this in mind, Sarah added extra padding around the hips and bottom area which only made Kate’s tiny waist look even tinier in that stunning dress.”
“It’s all about adding volume to certain areas to make other areas of the body look smaller.”
Details of the dress were kept secret until the day of the wedding when Kate stepped out of the car to enter Westminster Abbey just prior to the service.
The original gown was on display at Buckingham Palace from 23 July 2011 until 3 October 2011 during the annual summer exhibition.
