Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be considerate of Prince William and Princess Kate's work to ensure there is no "overlap" a royal author has claimed.

Since Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, they have embarked upon their own projects, such as the launch of Meghan's new lifestyle brand 'American Riviera Orchard'.

They have also recently announced a joint visit to Colombia later this year at the invitation of the country’s vice president Francia Marquez.

Royal author, Phil Dampier, told Fabulous Magazine that the Montecito-based duo have set up a "rival court" across the pond, but in a surprisingly nice move, have made sure their projects do not coincide with William and Kate's.

He explained: "Now that they [have] set up as this kind of rival court, they will obviously hope that things they do not overlap with what William's doing."

The royal author added: "He's [William’s] got events with the Earthshot Prize that he's involved in in South Africa later in the year, and Harry, of course, has got his Invictus Games, so as long as they don't directly clash in terms of dates, and try and score points off each other, and they're not directly competing in the same field, I think they can carry on."

It was announced Prince William's Earthshot Prize 2024 awards ceremony will take place in Cape Town, South Africa.

He explained it was "tragic" the couples were doing their "own thing" stating Harry and Meghan could have contributed at royal engagements following King Charles and Princess Kate's cancer diagnoses earlier this year. He added it might be a while until we see Prince George and Princess Charlotte conduct official engagements.

Provisionally scheduled for November, it is understood Harry and Meghan will head to Colombia's capital, Bogota, and Pacific regions Cartagena and Cali.

The pair are set to "experience the rich heritage of Colombia" in a meaningful visit and meet with locals and leaders.

Phil added: "It does rather look sometimes as if they're kind of setting up almost like an alternative royal court. And they're trying to be royal, while of course, they're not actually representing the Royal Family."

Ahead of the planned trip, the vice president said: "I am pleased to announce that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kindly accepted my invitation to visit our beautiful country.

"During their trip, The Duke and Duchess will join me in visiting Bogotá, as well as the Caribbean and Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali."

"In these vibrant locations, they will have the exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders, youth, and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress.

Also in the statement released, the Vice President added she is "confident" the Sussexes' visit will "illuminate Colombia's role as a beacon of culture and innovation".
