Princess Kate's stern words to Charlotte over Trooping the Colour mischief

Princess Kate gave daughter Princess Charlotte a telling off during last year's Trooping the Colour - but it seems the young princess was unfazed

Members of the Royal Family are renowned for maintaining their composure in public, regardless of how stressful or tedious the event may be.

Yet, lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman has offered a rare glimpse into the private exchanges between royals during their public appearances, particularly when they grace the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Princess Kate will make a surprise appearance at this year's Trooping the Colour ceremony amid her cancer battle. And she's sure to be just as much the attentive mother as she was last year, where she was spotted telling her children during their carriage ride.

Jeremy spotted Kate appearing to tell Princess Charlotte: "Do not look behind whilst on the coach."

Despite this, footage shows Charlotte ignoring her mother's directive and continuing to glance back, reports the Daily Star.

The playful antics didn't stop there, according to Jeremy. After Prince George sneezed, Kate simply said: "Bless you," but Charlotte seized the chance to reveal his embarassing secret, exclaiming: "Mum, George wiped it on his trousers."

Charlotte's exuberant nature nature was evident on the balcony at Buckingham Palace too. Growing impatient, she asked Duchess Sophie: "Sophie how long will it be?" to which her great-aunt replied reassuringly: "I think it's now."

Meanwhile, Jeremy revealed that King Charles had a rather succinct three-word retort to Queen Camilla as they prepared to observe the RAF flypast from the balcony.

When the royal pair emerged, the Queen was seen gesturing to the King with a hand on his shoulder, seemingly holding him back.

Jeremy is convinced that she uttered: "Don't walk away, you know I can't walk on my own," sprrring His Royal Highness to playfully reply: "Oh dearie me."

This year's military extravaganza will see the Irish Guards showcasing their colour at Horse Guards Parade, an event celebrated for its musical grandeur and precise military choreography.

The BBC plans to kick off its broadcast around 10.30 am, featuring Clare Balding as the commentator.

While it has been confirmed by Kensington Palace that Princess Kate was not present for the final rehearsal for the King's birthday parade, her presence at the actual ceremony remains unconfirmed.

The King, who like his daughter-in-law has recieved a cancer diagnosis, has expressed his intention to be present this year, albeit travelling by carriage rather than on horseback.
