King Charles has found a "useful ally" in the form of his eldest son, Prince William, insiders have revealed.

The pair have reportedly formed a close bond during the ongoing feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, with the monarch said to have connected with William over "family matters".

Although the widespread media attention on the Prince and Princess of Wales said to have caused some jealousy from Charles, one source now claims that this couldn't be further from the truth, as reported by the Mirror.

Speaking to The Times, one source said: "If there ever was a green-eyed monster or a sense of rivalry between the two, that's a chapter of the past. The King sees his son as a useful ally on family matters and increasingly in discharging the duties of nation and state."

The King is also said to be keen on building a relationship with his two youngest grandchildren - despite the ongoing feud with Harry and Meghan.

The King is said to have told friends that he is "not content" with only seeing Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3 on video calls and wants to see them more in person.

King Charles is thought to have seen Archie, who was born in 2019 in the UK, a number of times.

The 75-year-old has reportedly only met his youngest granddaughter, who celebrated her third birthday earlier this month, once - and that was back in 2022.

Sources close to the King say he is "keener than ever" to focus on his family and his duties and "make up for lost time" after being forced to scale back engagements after his diagnosis.

The monarch's efforts to gain a bond with his youngest grandchildren comes after he reportedly sent Lilibet a "heartfelt gift and card" to mark her birthday last week.
