An unexpected royal appearance in a viral TikTok video has left viewers shocked and amused.

The clip, posted by @thecleanupcompany, showed the team clearing out a house after someone's death and explaining the process of a bereavement clearance.

The seemingly regular clearance took an unexpected turn when the team assumed a picture of a lovely lady to be of the previous homeowner.

"Your clothes will be donated to charity, memory boxes chucked in the skip, and pictures taken down. I mean, look how beautiful this lady was when she was younger," the narrator can be heard saying.

However, social media users swiftly recognised the woman in the photo not as the unidentified deceased but as Princess Diana. This inadvertent blunder may explain why the original video has been viewed more than 4.4 million times, increasing even more after being shared on X/Twitter.

One viewer hilariously to it as the "superb accidental punchline". Another feedback read: "To be fair people who are under 30 probably have no direct recollection of Diana whatsoever."

Somebody else commented: "If I'm mistaken for Diana once I'm dead I'd be pretty happy," while another playfully added: "I was not expecting that lmaooo."

A viewer's comment on the TikTok simply stated: "That's princess diana." This particular remark gathered over 18,000 likes. Another viewer expressed, "I can't breathe. That's DIANA."

As some users pondered whether the blunder had been done intentionally, another indicated that the voiceover definitely "wasn't joking".

Shockingly, there were those who didn't even deduce that Diana had made an appearance, with a further comment stating: "I can't believe family wouldn't take the family photos."
