Prince William will attend the BAFTAs on Sunday evening without Princess Kate
Prince William has been supporting his wife and children while the Princess of Wales recovers from abdominal surgery.
Prince William, the president of BAFTA, will attend the EE Bafta Film Awards ceremony on Sunday evening.
He usually attends the glitzy event with his wife Princess Kate, but she will not be joining him as she continues to recover from her abdominal surgery last month.
The Prince of Wales has held two engagements since his wife's surgery as he has been priotising her recovery and looking after their three children during half term this week.
He is expected to do more public engagements when Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are back at school from Monday.
Kate was discharged from hospital at the end of January after spending almost two weeks as an in-patient, with a statement released by Kensington Palace confirming she had undergone the surgery.

On January 17 the Palace stated that the Princess of Wales had been operated on the day before and was following doctor's advice to rest and recuperate.
The exact nature of her condition is not known, although it was confirmed it is not related to cancer and it is likely she will be out of action until at least Easter.
Kate and the rest of her family travelled to Anmer Hall in Norfolk this week for the half-term holiday, suggesting she is already on the mend.

The Princess had been staying at home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, with former royal correspondent Jennie Bond telling OK! that the holiday is a positive sign.
She said: "One of the great beauties of Norfolk is that it is so accessible from London. Windsor is lovely, and they have a beautiful house, of course. But it’s also on the Heathrow flight path and that can be very intrusive. William and Kate find all they want as a family in the wide open spaces that Norfolk offers.
"They also have quite a few friends who live there like the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, so they can have a bit of fun.
"I think it’s very encouraging that Kate has been well enough to make the trip to Sandringham. It shows that she is making a steady recovery. Also, the change will probably be most welcome... the same four walls must get a bit tedious when you are recuperating as she is."
In 2023 Kate and William made a welcome return to the BAFTAS red carpet in their first ceremony in three years, having been kept away due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Then in 2022 it was claimed the couple could not attend due to "diary constraints", but their appearance last year delighted fans with the Princess looking elegant in a white one-shouldered gown and black elbow-length gloves.
Kate's return to public life will be eagerly anticipated, with the next royal event she could attend being the Easter Sunday service at Windsor not far from her family home.
