Charles in hilarious dig at 'bossy' Camilla as duchess orders future king to be quicker
PRINCE Charles joked about his wife's bossiness after she hurried him up to pose for a photograph with a couple of well-wishers at a fashion show tonight.
The heir to the throne, smiling, gestured towards the Duchess of Cornwall and complained: “She’s very bossy,” after Camilla told him to come along quickly.
Charles, 73, and Camilla, 74, were guests of honour at an event in the Rwandan capital Kigali showcasing up and coming and established fashion talent in the country and other Commonwealth nations.
There was a slight hitch when they arrived, however: the reception area of Kigali Arena was hit by two brief power cuts and was plunged into semi-darkness before the lighting could be restored.
The lights went out as they were meeting Maximilian Raynor, a London-based fashion designer in red high-heel boots who is just starting out in the business.
Amid a media scum backstage, the couple met models and designers showing them their latest collections.
Prince Charles appeared particularly impressed by the cross-African designs of Nigerian company Dye Lab. Derin Sanwo, the company’s operations manager, spent several minutes talking to the Prince. She said afterwards: “He said they were beautiful pieces.”
The couple watched 15 minutes of the fashion show before leaving.
