Boris Johnson meets with Emmanuel Macron at G7 summit

Queen Elizabeth made a sharp comment regarding French President Emmanuel Macron's marriage to Brigitte Macron, Boris Johnson has claimed.

The Former Prime Minister opened up about the discussions he had with Mr Macron during 2021's G7 summit in Cornwall regarding the post-Brexit Northern Ireland Protocol, in his new memoir, Unleashed, to be released on October 10.

He also spoke about how after the summit's row with the French President, he discussed Mr Macron with the late monarch, during an engagement at the Eden project on June 11.

Mr Johnson wrote: "She had met all the leaders and their wives at a splendid dinner, on the first evening, in the Eden Project.

"She observed that there seemed to be an interesting age gap between M. and Mme Macron.

The comment sparked political fury with then Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab saying the remark was "offensive".
