Queen Camilla wears dazzling £30,000 moonstone brooch which is surrounded in mystery

Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth had many brooches she wore during her ilustrious reign, with one which stood above the rest. In her footsteps, Queen Camilla also favours the accessory, often seen with different ones.

However, there isn't much known about one brooch favoured by Camilla who has been wearing it through the years, notably a lot in the year Queen Elizabeth died, in 2022.

Jewellers Maxwell Stone has shed some light on the significance of the jewel, which is especially pertinent given the tensions being experienced in the royal family at the moment.

Speaking exlusively to the Express, they said: “There’s been much speculation surrounding Queen Camilla’s latest brooch, as its origin remains a mystery. While it's not a piece she wears often, she has been seen wearing it on two notable occasions: during the trophy presentation at Ascot Racecourse in July 2022, and when welcoming the President of South Africa to Buckingham Palace in November of the same year."

They added: "The dazzling brooch features diamonds surrounding a central blue cabochon gemstone, believed to be moonstone. This gem has been cherished by royalty and jewellery enthusiasts for centuries, prized for its symbolic meanings of feminine energy, new beginnings, self-awareness, calmness, intuition, and safe travel.

"Intriguingly, moonstone is also thought to have the power to reunite loved ones separated by conflict, a particularly fitting sentiment given the ongoing tensions between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Royal Family.

"The more transparent and blue a moonstone is, the more valuable it becomes. Based on its design and the apparent quality of the gemstone, I’d estimate Queen Camilla’s brooch to be worth approximately £30,000.”

The healing powers of the brooch are certainly necessary, given that the royal rift shows no signs of easing. Despite Prince Harry returning to the UK several times since he and Meghan moved to the US, he has seldom met with members of the family.

Earlier in the summer, Harry and Prince William both attended their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes' funeral - reportedly without interacting with one another.

Speaking to The Sun, a local said: "I didn't know they were there. They arrived very discreetly."

Another told the publication: "William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance."
