The 3 star signs 'acutely affected' by Mercury retrograde this month - astrologer warning
The Mercury retrograde is an astrological phase known for its potential to disrupt various aspects of everyday life and often leaves many wondering what to expect.
Mercury has been retrograde since August 4 and will remain so until the end of the month on August 27. Celebrity astrologer Inbaal Honigman has issued a stark warning to three of the 12 star signs set to be most affected during the astrological period.
Sharing her expertise with tarot and astrology platform Tarotoo Inbaal explained: "When we say that a planet is in retrograde, it means that it appears to be going backwards in the sky. But planets can only ever travel forward, along their orbit, but because our planet Earth moves, too, sometimes planets appear as if they're going backwards.
"When a planet is retrograde, we view it as bringing challenges within the realm of that particular planet, and also potentially dragging the past into the present."
In Western astrology, Mercury is named for the Roman God of commerce, travel and trickery and is recognised as the planet of communication.
"The planet Mercury rules the zodiac signs of Gemini and Virgo, both communicative signs, great conversationalists and skilled sales people. The position of Mercury affects how shopping, chatting and texting would go on each particular day", warned Inbaal.
Zodiac signs affected by Mercury retrograde
Gemini
Gemini season runs from May 21 to June 21, making Gemini the third sign of the zodiac. Represented by a symbol which details a pair of twins, the star sign is a curious one.
Inbaal said: "The sign of Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, so whenever Mercury hits a bump, Gemini feels it acutely. This August, Mercury reverses first through meticulous Virgo, and then through proud Leo, therefore Gemini can find themselves doubly hit.
"Every Gemini has two sides, which could manifest as organised/chaotic, attentive/aloof, sociable/solitary. One of those sides will inevitably share some characteristics with Virgo, and the other side with Leo, so Mercury attempts to divide and rule the Gemini by messing with each personality in turn."

Virgo
In astrology, Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac with its 'season' between August 23 and September 2.
From August 4 to 14, Mercury reverses through the sign of Virgo, warned Inbaal. She explained: "As the retrograde brings chaos to Virgo's saved files, close friendships and even career, it feels personal.
"The sign of Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury, so when all those things go wrong, they are the parts of life that Virgo values the most."
Leo
In astrology, Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac and governs the period from July 23 to August 22 - happy Leo season!
From August 14 to 27, Mercury is retrograde in the sign of Leo, according to the astrologer. Inbaal elaborated: "This sign likes to stay on top of life and be in control, but with the Mercury retrograde in attendance, it's harder than it sounds.
"Leo doesn't like chaos so the entire retrograde period from August 4 to 27 is tough, but when Mercury is in their sign, it's good to stay vigilant and not lose their phone, or reveal their password accidentally."
