IKEA fans are in for a delight this Saturday (September 7) as the Scandinavian home furnishing franchise is offering an amazing deal across its UK stores.

Customers can enjoy a free hot breakfast and a £15 discount when they spend £50 or more in-store on the day. Additionally, children eat free from 11am in the Swedish restaurant with the purchase of an adult's meal. However, there's a slight catch – and it relates to your choice of outfit.

To mark National Pyjama Day, the offers are only valid for adults who come to the store in their PJs. The offer is open to IKEA Family members, which is free to join.

According to IKEA, recent research indicates that 65% of Gen-Z are comfortable wearing pyjamas in public. This signifies a change in fashion norms and a celebration of comfort, with over half of those (51%) confessing they go out in pyjamas or loungewear at least once a month, and over a quarter (27%) considering it a 'fashion statement'.

This contrasts sharply with the older generation – just five percent of baby boomers admit to leaving the house in loungewear. As nearly a quarter of UK consumers (24%) confess they shop online because they're too cosy to get dressed, IKEA says it is prioritising comfort with this unique in-store shopping experience.

Anna Arokiam, Head of Commercial Activities at IKEA UK and Ireland, commented: "From a little lie-in to a full-blown duvet day, it's clear that UK residents love their cosy comforts. So, IKEA is honouring loungewear lovers with our Pyjama Day offer in celebration of one of the nation's favourite things to do sleep.

"We hope this dreamy deal gives everyone an excuse to get out of bed and come enjoy a fun-filled day at their local IKEA."

IKEA also has a treat for those who can't attend the event; Family members are eligible for up to 20% off on IKEA Sleep Essentials, from mattresses and bedframes to pillows and bed linen, available online or in-store between Sunday 1st September and Monday 30th September.

An opportunity not to be snoozed on, shoppers will receive a 10% discount on purchases over £200, a 15% reduction when spending at least £400, and an impressive 20% off when outlaying £600 or more tempting reasons for customers to sign up and snag marvellous markdowns all month long.
