Wheeler Dealers World Tour teased in trailer from Discovery

Wheeler Dealers host Mike Brewer admits he has been left “hurt” by a second vehicle theft in just over a year.

Last week, Mike revealed his One Automotive garage had been scammed after a buyer purchased a Volkswagen Golf Mk7 GTD with false details.

Mike stressed his team had done their background checks on the prospective owner and let the car go but was hit with trouble days later.

It quickly came to light that the person charged for the car had disputed the charge and had not purchased the vehicle.

It means the person who drove off with the car had used a fake ID and someone else’s bank details.

Mike shared a further update over the weekend and admitted police were now involved in trying to solve the case.

Speaking on YouTube, Mike said: “It is painful. It does hurt. We have got the police onto it. Yes, the police are involved, yes it has been reported as stolen, yes we’ve given them details of the trailer company and the registration number and the driver.

“But it's up to the police now to do their job, let’s hope they do and they can recover the car.”

However, things quickly got worse for the host of the popular classic car restoration show.

Despite already losing the car, Mike was then told to repay the money to the affected individual and has lost thousands of pounds worth of profit.

Mike added: “But we are still without the car and if you think about it when I said we are without a car and the money and people are going ‘no, you’re not you’re just without the car’.

“No, the bank has taken back the money and we don’t have a car. That’s where we are at the moment

“It will be nice if we could have a car so we can make a profit out of it.”

However, it’s not the first time Mike has fallen victim to car thefts with the Wheeler Dealers team targeted last summer

Mike and co-host Marc Priestley had just finished restoring a classic Ford Fiesta and were just hours off displaying it to the public when criminals struck.

The machine was stolen from a hotel car park alongside the trailer it was stored in with the hosts left baffled.

A year on, there have still been no updates on the whereabouts of the Ford despite several pleas from Mike.
