Wheeler Dealers TV host Mike Brewer has claimed a popular second-hand Ford will be a “future classic” and worth more in less than half a decade.

The presenter of the iconic classic car restoration programme highlighted the Ford Fiesta as a car to watch especially after Ford ended production on the marque last year.

The Fiesta is one of the most popular cars on UK streets with dozens of models available.

It means those looking for long-term value will have to dial back their search to a specific Fiesta which is likely to stand out.

According to Mike, the Mk7 ST model is exactly that with demand for the model likely to increase imminently

Speaking to The Telegraph, Mike said: “The Mk7 Fiesta ST, whether it’s the standard ST or the higher-performance model.

“They are definitely going to be sought after in the next three to four years, if not sooner.

“They’re very, very desirable as Ford is not making the Fiesta anymore. That’s a car loved by the public of the UK and definitely one that’s going to be a future classic.”

The Mk7 was the seventh generation Fiesta ST released by the American marque with production running from 2018 to 2023.

Although slightly heavier than the previous generation, the car certainly packed a punch on the road.

The model came fitted with a 200 PS three-cylinder, 1.5-litre Ecoboost engine pumping out 197bhp.

The machine has a top speed of 144mph and can reach 0-60 mph in just 6.3 seconds.

Ford’s Fiesta ST was popular among critics with the model even securing Top Gear's Hot Hatch and Car of the Year Awards back in 2018.

According to motoring experts at Parkers, the Fiesta ST was priced at a whopping £19,290 when brand new.

Motorists interested in picking up a second-hand model are now likely to pay somewhere between £8,0955 and £11,295 on average.

AutoTrader, the new and used car marketplace specialists, also have examples listed for slightly over £10,000.

Wheeler Dealers duo Mike and Marc Priestley restored a classic Ford Fiesta as a special tribute to the brand on last year’s series.

However, in a major blow, the model was stolen by thieves just hours after work had been completed.
