Graham Norton recently opened up about his views on pop sensation Taylor Swift. While making a guest appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, the Irish comedian discussed what it’s like to meet one of the world’s biggest celebrities.

During his interview with the radio hosts, he said: "Someone like Taylor Swift, who is arguably the most famous woman in the world - I don't know if it's an act, but she appears to be so close to normal.

"It's weird. It's like you can change the economy of a country just by showing up. How can you be this normal? And yet she's so lovely and normal and just fantastic."

Graham, 61, also expressed admiration for Swift's sensible approach to her music.

He recalled a conversation they had about her voice during her extensive tour schedule.

"I remember saying to her, you know, because she's going on a big, long tour. And I said to her, 'Are you worried about keeping your voice?' And she went: 'No, I write songs that are easy to sing.'"

Australian breakfast show host Kyle also shared his admiration of Taylor Swift, adding: "She always has been super sweet. Like, she went from that gangly giraffe teenager country girl into a megastar but has been the same from the beginning to the end. I love her."

Graham went on to praise the musician's smart songwriting choices, explaining how this foresight has paid off.

He continued: "She literally decided, 'I will write easy-to-sing songs, and therefore, I need never worry about my voice because I'll be fine.' And also, now all the fans sing all of them."

Aside from his comments on Taylor Swift, Graham also reflected on some of his more challenging celebrity encounters over the years.

With 31 seasons of The Graham Norton Show under his belt, he's had his fair share of awkward moments.

One guest that stood out was actress Darryl Hannah, who Graham described as "not great".

It wasn’t diva behaviour that made the Kill Bill star difficult to work with, but rather extreme nerves.

He told AU News: "She did our show, and bless her, she wasn’t a great guest. But what I loved was, because she got through it, afterwards she was high as a kite. She really felt like she’d done an amazing thing."

Another challenging experience was with actor Mickey Rourke, who arrived for the show holding a half-empty bottle of Jack Daniels.

"Those nights are quite hard work where you’re just trying to keep it together and get to the finishing line," Norton recalled.

And then there was pop legend Madonna, who didn’t exactly warm to a pair of handmade dolls presented to her by adoring fans in the audience.

Despite her cold reaction, Graham was relieved to find that the fans were overjoyed about her attitude.

"Their diva had behaved in exactly the way they wanted her to!" he exclaimed.
