Graham Norton has admitted that American actress Daryl Hannah was "not a great guest" on his BBC chat show. The Irish star spoke to News.com.au and had been warned that Hannah was "not a fan of chat shows."

The 61-year-old suggested that Daryl's behaviour was probably due to nerves and had been informed that she almost fainted during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

The actress is best known for her role in martial arts film, Kill Bill, where she plays Elle Driver. She has also appeared in Steel Magnolias, Blade Runner, Wall Street and Splash.

Graham said: "So she did our show and, bless her, she wasn’t a great guest. But what I loved was, because she got through it, afterwards she was high as a kite. She really felt like she’d done an amazing thing. And I was thrilled for her that she had gotten through it. It was still a very poor show."

Hannah appeared on the very first series of the Graham Norton Show in 2002 and was the only guest.

Earlier this year, Graham recalled the time a Hollywood actor "refused to sit down" on his BBC show because he wasn't happy with the seating plan.

Appearing on the latest episode of Grace Dent's Comfort Eating podcast, the TV host looked back on his life and spoke about one Hollywood star that has never made it onto his iconic red sofa next to him.

He said: " Bradley Cooper has never sat next to me. There has always been someone more famous than him."

Graham was then asked about 'has anyone ever walked out and just changed seats at the last minute'.

He then replied: "That has happened once. They walked out together, they were two actors, they walked out together and one of them was supposed to be sitting next to me and the other one just didn't sit down. He just waited."

The Graham Norton Show can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
