Eamonn Holmes says he can't 'look after' himself in sad health update on mobility issues

GB News star Eamonn Holmes has heartbreakingly confessed that he cannot "look after" himself due to ongoing health struggles.

At 64 years old, the veteran broadcaster has encountered a series of challenging health problems, evidenced by his recent use of a wheelchair and candid social media posts about his journey towards better mobility.

In a touching Instagram post, dedicated to raising awareness for K-9 Angels which is a charity close to his heart, Eamonn gave followers an update. He's not only a patron but also an active endorser of the charity, often seen campaigning with S Club 7 star Jo O'Meara.

The presenting duo delighted fans on Instagram when they reintroduced Bella, a dog they'd previously spotlighted, who is currently in search of her forever home after being brought over from Greece.

Eamonn wrote in his caption: "Think about giving Bella a home. If I could walk and look after myself she would be mine but instead you could be me. Talk to [the K-9 Angels]", reports the Mirror.

He couldn't help but praise Bella, saying: "Absolutely lovely doggie."

This heartfelt appeal sparked a surge of warm reactions, particularly from one commenter rooting for Eamonn's recovery. They expressed hope that the presenter might once again offer a rescue dog a loving home, much like he did with beloved pet dog Maggie, during his 14-year marriage to Ruth Langsford.

The fan commented: "I hope you will be able to walk/look after yourself soon and give one of these dogs a happy home once again. Sending you positive vibes Eamonn."

In the comments section, another person wrote: "Hopefully you will get stronger and be able to get another dog."

Eamonn has provided his followers with the latest health update since he revealed in July that he had started using an anti-gravity treadmill to aid his mobility. Last month, he shared insights into his journey, admitting that a recent session had been particularly challenging.

Using the machine, Eamonn expressed: "Coming up to thirty minutes on anti-gravity treadmill. It's been tough today. Not every day is easy, well few days are easy. It's all about muscle memory. It trains my legs which aren't forming any connection with my brain."

He offered a more detailed update later on, stating: "Gosh, it is tough today. It is so tough. If you'd asked me a week ago, I'd be saying 'I've made such an improvement' but I regress."

He continued: "Sometimes the body plays ball, sometimes it doesn't. But what I do know is if I stay on this and I do all that I'm supposed to, it can only get better."

Previously, in another video discussing the benefits of the machine, the presenter explained: "The balloon holds my weight. What it does really, the machine, if I now walk or run in this, and it helps my legs and my body remember what it was like to move like this before things went wrong, that have been wrong for a long time."

Eamonn reflected on his condition, saying: "So this gives me a certain amount of freedom and the idea is that I build up muscle memory and y'know things will happen, hopefully in the future. For the moment, I'll do half an hour on this."

He had previously shared about his health struggles, stating: "Hard to stand up but next my aim is to walk."

Eamonn, who separated from his wife Ruth earlier this year, also expressed at the TRIC Awards in June: "I went for an operation a year and a half ago and it went wrong. I got two things in my back that I didn't want."
