Gogglebox's Sandi Bogle addresses co-star Sandra being 'broke' and 'on benefits'
Sandra Martin was a firm favourite on Channel 4's Gogglebox before she quit the show - but was recently branded 'broke and homeless' by online trolls.

Former Gogglebox sensation Sandra Martin left the show seven years ago, but has since faced financial difficulties. She initially appeared alongside her best friend Sandi Bogle, who has broken her silence on Sandra's lifestyle.
Recently, Sandra has revealed her journey from having "everything paid for" by Gogglebox to finding herself unemployed. She resided in temporary accommodation and even had to sell merchandise to afford meals.
Breaking her silence, Sandi said to The Sun at the British Restaurant Awards: " Please, let me tell you something, Sandra has fans galore from all over the world.
“They send her presents, they send her gifts and she just accepts them.
“When I left Gogglebox, she left not long after me, but I was already doing stuff. So she’s now catching up. She didn’t really have anything, so now I’m bringing her along with me.

“She was at a charity football match the other day taking selfies with fans, not charging any money. She does things for free and doesn’t ask for money for it. She just loves her fans and they love her back.”
Earlier this year, Sandra confessed to being "broke" and surviving on Universal Credit. Despite this, she has faced backlash from online trolls over her financial situation as she indulges in luxurious trips abroad.
However, Sandra disclosed that these holidays to Ibiza, Amsterdam and Portugal were actually presents from her fans. Since Christmas Day, Sandra has enjoyed five holidays and is soon setting off for Malta, reported the Mirror.

In awe of her fans' generosity, she referred to it as a "miracle" that they wish to spend their money on her. Sandra asserted that her life was completely changed by her stint on Gogglebox, with the show covering all her expenses.
Sandra also disliked repeating outfits and would often foot the bill for her friends' meals. She indulged in good food, regular hair appointments, and taxi rides everywhere.
While acknowledging that she "could have spent more wisely", Sandra expressed her aversion to being a "miser and tight". Her stint on Gogglebox ended in 2017, a year after her co-star Sandi left to join Celebrity Big Brother.
