Strictly Come Dancing has been hit with another blow as a terrifying "intruder scare" becomes the latest incident to mar the popular show.

The BBC stars were in their training studios when an unidentified man reportedly “scaled the wall”.

Reports suggest that professional dancers, including Kai Widdrington and Johannes Radebe, were enjoying lunch with their security team when they had to spring into action to ensure the safety of the pros.

An insider revealed that the dancers were quickly “ushered inside” while the security team ramped up safety measures.

This incident follows a series of complaints and harsh allegations against some former professional dancers.

Speaking to The Sun, the source said: “A member of the public scaled a wall at the back of the building and security spotted them straight away and swept into action.

“The incident was dealt with very quickly and nobody came to any harm, but security always treat[s] the wellbeing of the show's talent with the utmost importance so they couldn't take any chances.”

They added that rehearsals for the new series resumed as usual after the incident.

This news comes on the heels of reports suggesting that several Strictly professionals could “face being axed,” with some fan-favourite professional stars allegedly being lined up by bosses for a 2025 dismissal.

The stars of the 2024 series have arrived this week to commence training.

However, reports suggest that “five professionals could face the axe next year” amidst the scandals surrounding the show and former pros Giovanni Pernice and Graziano di Prima.

A TV insider has disclosed that while this year's lineup can't be altered, there is a sentiment that “the feeling is that Strictly needs to make a fresh start in 2025”.

The Sun reports the insider as saying that professionals who haven't been removed from the show may feel “entitled and untouchable,” adding: “So for many of the pros turning up for rehearsals this week, it may be their last time.”

They further noted that it's “not a done deal” and the axing will not “be a case by case of the oldest or longest-serving”.

Instead, “it would be a carefully considered process, with other factors taken into account too".
