Strictly Come Dancing sensation Gemma Atkinson has been left in stitches after her daughter, Mia, chose to support Spain over England in the upcoming Euro 2024 final.

The adorable five-year-old, whose father is Spanish-born Strictly star Gorka Marquez, made her loyalties clear, much to her mother's dismay.

Gemma, who sparked a romance with Gorka offstage after competing in the 2017 series of Strictly, shared the amusing family divide on Hits Radio.

Despite her efforts to rally support for England, Mia remains steadfast in her decision to cheer for her dad's homeland.

The 39-year-old actress and radio host recounted the conversation with her daughter to Hits Radio listener Geoff, saying: "I'm ashamed to say she's chosen Spain.

"She's already said to me 'You know I'm supporting Spain mummy on Sunday with papa? ' and I said 'No! You support England, you're in England!'"

But Mia had a cheeky comeback that left Gemma speechless, as she explained Mia's reasoning: "And she replied 'I'm half Spanish and it's warmer there' - so that was her reasoning why. She has a point, doesn't she?"

With her eldest seemingly siding with Spain, Gemma hasn't given up hope of securing her youngest's allegiance.

She revealed plans to deck out herself and 11-month-old Thiago in England colours, hoping a victory on Sunday might just sway him to Team England.

The ex-Hollyoaks actress spilled the beans on Gorka's cheeky plan to jet off to Berlin for the football match, just to gloat if England faced defeat.

She shared with her fans: "When I said why he said, 'So I can rub it in your face when we win! ' I said 'You're not going to win! You will lose my friend!'"

The hilarious Euros back and forth comes after Gemma and Gorka were forced to press pause on their wedding arrangements once again.

Initially, they delayed their nuptials so their daughter Mia could take part in the ceremony, but now they wish for their son Thiago to join in before setting a new date, Gemma told OK! Magzine.

"We'd like Thiago to be involved now so we're going to have to wait another year or so. When we first got engaged we said we'll get Mia walking down the aisle and then Thiago came along... and there's no time!"

Furthermore, she revealed: "We were toying with just going to a registry office and then having a big party after.

"But I think my mum would like to see me walk down the aisle so no plans yet but one day it will happen."
