Andi Peters 'begs' to 'keep job' after technical blunder

Good Morning Britain's Andi Peters suffered an on air embarrassment on Friday's (August 9) show which led to him pleading with bosses "don't get rid of me!"

The veteran presenter, who is fully au ait with how a TV studio works, found himself with no sound after a bathroom break.

Presenters Rob Rinder and Kate Garraway introduced Andi as they enthsiasticaly plugged the ITV show's competition. Not realising anything was wrong he started talking explaining how to win in detail.

Unfortunately no one could hear him and he was forced to admit he was the cause of the problem. He confessed he'd unplugged his microphone to go to the toilet just before going live on the show.

The realistation hit him live on air and he was seen pulling out his mic pack and realising it was unplugged leading to laughter from the hosts while he pleaded: "Run the VT!"

While Kate and Rob continuted to laugh he pleaded with bosses: "Seriously, don't get rid of me!"

Pretending to be on the phone to the GMB powers that be, he added: "I went to the toilet, that's why I unplugged it! Right OK."

This latest on air glitch came just a day after he expressed confusion about attempting to greet Christine Lampard, who is standing in as a presenter on Lorraine.

He interjected during a broadcast on the show to joke about her missing his greeting behind the scenes after Wednesday's show on 7 August.

Broadcasting from Surrey via video link, the competition host delayed the programme to highlight Christine's absence, remarking: "Christine, by the way, I came by to see you yesterday, to say hello but you weren't in your dressing room."

He went on to say: "I don't know where you were but I was going to say hello to you before seeing you on the telly, but we're on the telly now anyway."

Cutting in, a slightly embarrassed Christine replied warmly: "Awww well thank you, let's say hello now instead."

Andi, eager to show all is well between them, responded cheerfully: "You're welcome, you're welcome," and shared a laugh over their coincidental attire, claiming they were "twinning" wearing blue.
