Breakfast: Jon asks Carol if there will be any sunshine

It may have been a gloomy start but Carol Kirkwood brightened up everyone's morning with a beautiful selfie on Thursday.

The BBC Breakfast star took to Instagram to share a snap of herself before going live on air with her co-stars Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt.

Carol, who presents the weather on the long-running BBC programme, looked stunning in a short-sleeved leopard print dress as she beamed a bright smile for the camera.

She was standing in front of a gloomy backdrop, which featured a calm lake with swans swimming in it.

The 62-year-old Scottish weather presenter had her signature blonde locks styled into a wavy bob that flowed effortlessly around her shoulders.
