Loose Women star Kaye Adams says she is “questioning” her husband Ian Campbell’s desire to quit the UK.

Tennis coach Ian has previously said he wants to spend two months a year in Spain. However, despite parts of the UK summer being somewhat wet and dreary this year, Kaye, 61, admits she has some reservations about the move.

Speaking on her How to Be 60 podcast, Kaye said: “I’m still questioning that thing I said the other week that Ian wants to spend two months a year in Spain.”

Fellow host Karen Mackenzie replied: “Oh my God, I thought about this and I have no idea why you are even questioning it. Look at the weather we have had here in August and September, it is dire.

“Have you thought about what’s behind this reluctance? Is it about missing out on work here?

“Do you think once you’re off the telly here, that’s it, they’ll forget about you? They might do, because let’s face it, you’re always replaceable.”

Kaye confessed she “doesn’t know” why she has reservations about moving to sunnier climates for two months a year.

She added: “I look at the rain battering the window in August and September and I think, why?”

Admitting she was a “slow burner,” Kaye said she “may come around” to the idea of moving to Spain. She could even present her radio show from the European nation to continue working during their time away.

Kaye has been a regular on TV screens now for decades, having first joined Central Television - now ITV Central - as a trainee. She joined the cast of Loose Women in 1999, leaving in 2006.

However, the presenter returned to the panel seven years later, rotating with Countdown star Carol Vorderman, and Andrea McClean.

She has also appeared in a host of other TV shows, including teaming up with Kai Widdrington on the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing, being eliminated first.
