BBC News star announces bombshell exit after 20 years as they admit ‘it’s time for change’
A BBC News presenter has revealed they are stepping down from their role after "two decades" on screen as they admitted "it's time for a change".
A viewer-favourite BBC News presenter has quit her on-screen role after two decades with the channel.
Tulip Mazumdar, 43, was employed by the BBC as their Global Health Correspondent but she has now decided to step down from the role for good.
She dropped the bombshell news on her personal X account, where she admitted what she was looking forward to doing after she waved goodbye to the BBC for good.
Alongside a sweet photo of her two children petting two llamas at a farm, Tulip announced: "I will be leaving @BBCNews at the end of this week.
"I've had the most incredible two decades, but it's time for a change, and to hang more with these two rascals….
"Thanks so much to everyone who trusted me to help share their, often very personal, stories.
"Together, I do think we’ve made a difference," she concluded.
And it didn't take long for Tulip's colleagues to express their gratitude for her hard work in a series of loving messages as they wished her good luck for the future.
BBC's lead presenter, Alan Kasujja, penned: "Best wishes Tulip. It was a pleasure working with you."
