Married At First Sight star Andrew Jury dies aged 33 as co-stars left heartbroken

Married At First Sight has been rocked by the death of one of its former grooms, Andrew Jury, at the age of just 33.

Married At First Sight's New Zealand cast is in mourning following the sudden death of groom Andrew Jury at 33. The beloved star, who shot to fame on the show's 2017 series as the fun-loving builder, was warmly remembered by fellow participants Brett and Angel Renall and Benjamin Blackwell.

In a moving tribute on Instagram, they expressed: "We had the absolute pleasure of filming and participating in a show which leaves us intricately linked for a lifetime."

The post continued with reflections on Andrew's charismatic persona, saying: "Despite his struggles, Andrew was always friendly and the life of the party during our shared experience and he really valued his time on the show.

"At this time our entire cast wish to send our deepest condolences and love to his family - Ben, Angel, Brett, Vicky, Haydn, Lacey, Claire, Dom, Aaron, Luke, Belinda."

Andrew, known for his gregarious and charming nature, was originally paired with Vicky Gleeson-Stokes on the show. Although they continued their relationship until the season's conclusion, the couple parted ways shortly after it ended.

Subsequently, Andrew publicly scrutinised the integrity of Married At First Sight, questioning if the matchmakers were genuinely seeking love connections.

Reflecting on his own experience, he stated that he and Vicky were complete mismatches, emphasizing that she was not the type of partner he had envisioned.

Additionally, he voiced concern over the conditions endured during filming.

Following the announcement of Andrew's death today, the creators of MAFS New Zealand, Warner Bros Discovery, extended their "deepest condolences" to Andrew's family and friends.

They stated: "WBD takes duty of care extremely seriously and has protocols in place regarding the wellbeing of cast and crew.

"All MAFS NZ contributors have access to mental health professionals throughout the process, including pre-screening, during production and after broadcast."
