Jeremy Clarkson's brutal swipe at James May leaves fans all saying same thing

Jeremy Clarkson is no stranger to winding up his fellow motorhead James May but this time even fans got involved.

Jeremy Clarkson appeared to have been on the wind-up this week and his former Top Gear co-presenter James May was at the receiving end of it.

The duo starred alongside Richard Hammond on the long-running BBC show for over a decade before the trio reunited for Prime Video’s The Grand Tour.

While the three motorheads went off to explore different career opportunities away from one another - it has not stopped Jeremy from playfully teasing his old pals from afar.

Over the weekend the 64-year-old host took to Instagram to give an insight into his day at the Churchill Car Show, which took place in the Cotswolds, when he spotted something that reminded him of James.

The Clarkson's Farm star uploaded a snap of a dated forest-green Triumph Mayflower and captioned it: "Good news James May, it’s for sale.”

Over the years working on Top Gear and their spin-off show The Grand Tour, James has become known for living life in the slow lane and having rather odd preferences when it comes to buying cars after a bottle of wine down.

Jeremy's jibe seemed to be a hit among fans as they took to the comment section to join in on the joke.

One user @topgearkia quipped: "Far too modern for James," as @rossy____007 echoed: "Looks too fast for James, perhaps a horse and carriage will be more his style."

A third user @turbo.sandwich chimed in, adding: "Too fast for James, bit reckless I say."

While @sargebarge.627 pointed out: "Give him some wine and he might actually go through with it Jezza," referring to the time James bought a dated Crosley for the Eurocrash episode of The Grand Tour after drinking a whole bottle of wine.

And @o_abn_oa also joined in, writing: "He'll probably buy it when he's drunk again."

The Grand Tour is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
