Will Mellor was left open-mouthed and exclaiming: "Only in London!" as he discovered a "kinky" surprise he hadn't been expecting in his hotel room.

Will Mellor discovers a 'kinky' surprise in his hotel room in London

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Will Mellor, who recently starred in the gripping series Mr. Bates vs The Post Office, surprised fans by revealing his identity in real-time on an Instagram video. However, the actor publicly revealing the name and address of the hotel he'd just checked into on the internet was the least of the shockers to come, after he discovered something "kinky" in his room.

After spotting two unusual masks attached to the lampshade, Will couldn't help but link it to a sexual practise, as he shared the discovery with his 606,000 followers. "I'd never seen [this hotel] before and I just want to show you round," he explained.

"Got a nice mirror there, lit up so you can see yourself properly when you're getting ready, nice big telly at the bottom of the bed... love that, all normal, but there is one thing in this room that I've never seen before in any other hotel room - and it's this!"

He spun the camera towards one mask, and then another which he compared to Daffy Duck, exclaiming: "What the f*** is that?!" "They're not lamps - you're supposed to put them on," he continued.

"Either someone's left them here or this hotel invites you to do some kinky s*** - only in London!" The hotel he was referring to was the Shoreditch branch of the four-star Mama Shelter chain, on Hackney Road.

Although the hotel's website boasts two karaoke rooms, with over 10,000 tracks for guests to choose from, no mention is made of masks.

However, on closer inspection, two masks can be seen hanging from the mirror in one of the promo pics, featuring Sylvester The Cat and Tweety Pie from the Looney Tunes cartoon series.

Meanwhile, in the comments section of his video, fans jokingly urged Will to "run", quizzing whether the masks had been used.

"That’s bl***y hilarious!! I reckon it’s some weird dogging stuff! Saw a proper dodgy channel 4 program where they were wearing odd masks like that!!! Run!!!" one follower wrote.

"I so wouldn't have that on my face. I know where it's been," one exclaimed, admonishing Will for having tried one of the masks on.

Another agreed, writing: "My first thought was never in a million years would I put that on my face!"

However, someone had a very different explanation for why the masks were there, quipping: "You’re in Hackney Road, they were probably used for a robbery lol!"

Meanwhile, another eagle-eyed fan joked: "Check the mirrors to make sure they aren’t two way and you aren’t getting filmed!"

In other Will Mellor news, the actor recently allowed himself to be electrocuted on stage as part of his Two Pints podcast tour with Ralf Little, which culminated with him screaming in "pain".

He and Ralf also returned to their former Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps filming locations recently, including the Archers Pub in Cheshire which has since been converted into a Buddhist temple.
