Green travel list speculation: The 22 places likely to be on the green list from mid-July
THE Government's green travel list has provided Brits with their only means of relatively frictionless foreign travel, and regular monthly updates keep a rotating supply of destinations. Several countries have recently met the criteria required to gain a place on the list.

Government ministers introduced the green travel list as part of their "traffic light" holiday plans this year. Green follows red and amber and allows people to embark on a holiday or visit families under less restrictive Covid measures. Countries may only drift to the green list if they meet select criteria, however, and one expert believes 22 have done just that.
Which countries could go to the green list in July?
The Government only recently updated its green list to include sun-soaked locations such as Malta and the Spanish islands.
Ministers also included others such as Antarctica and Caribbean islands for those hoping to get out of Europe.
Officials only moved the destinations after they met four criteria that show they can effectively handle imported Brits.

These include:
- How much of the population is vaccinated
- The rate of infection
- The prevalence of variants of concern
- Level of access to reliable scientific data and genomic sequencing
Experts have identified 22 nations that could serve as viable green list locations by the next crunch date on July 15, with any changes coming into play from July 21.
Robert Boyle, a former British Airways strategy chief, claimed to understand the minutiae of the Government's travel algorithm.
Using his insights, he identified countries likely to debut on its green list in the coming weeks.
Mr Boyle analysed data behind its latest constituents to arrive at his conclusions.
And potential destinations include some of the UK's most treasured tourist spots.
