City breaks are a big hit in the UK, thanks to our close proximity to a range of diverse countries with very different cultures.

But if you've already ticked off the usual suspects like Paris and Rome from your bucket list, you might be craving some fresh inspiration.

Nestled on the Balkan Peninsula in south-eastern Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina has long been an under-the-radar holiday destination for Britons.

However, viral videos showcasing the serene beauty of this country could soon change that.

Travel influencer Nessa recently took to TikTok to share a video of the iconic Kravica Waterfalls - one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most renowned tourist attractions.

Visitors can take a dip in the emerald waters, encircled by cascades tumbling down from verdant greenery. Just remember to arrive early to avoid the crowds, advised the Mirror.

Bosnia and Herzegovina also boasts the sacred Krizevac mountain, which according to legend, was where the Virgin Mary appeared to six children to deliver a message of peace and prayer.

Regardless of your faith, a four-hour hike up the rocky terrain will reward you with some truly breathtaking views. And for those seeking a bit more adventure, the four-mile-long Vjetrenica Cave is a must-visit.

This subterranean wonder is adorned with 15th-century tombstones at its entrance and unique rock formations.

Numerous travel buffs have taken to the comments section praising this destination, with many terming it as the "most beautiful place on Earth". One enthusiastic individual said: "Been here, it was absolutely magical. I'd love to visit Bosnia again."

A second stated: "Bosnia is something else," while a third traveller referred to the spot as "Heaven on Earth".

There are direct flights available to Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital Sarajevo from Luton and Stansted. For those who have flexibility in their schedule, grabbing a cheap deal is highly possible - with airfares starting as low as £18 in October.

Once there, tourists can choose to stay in Sarajevo, which serves as an excellent base for people interested in hiring a car for travelling around. Alternatively, you can opt for a transfer to Mostar, a charming city that boasts of its legendary bridge and scenic mountain views.
