Tennis ace Matteo Berrettini used to date an Italian model who once admitted to having sex "seven to ten times a week". Despite a notable age difference, Melissa Satta being ten years his senior, the couple's relationship seemed unaffected until it recently ended under wraps.

Berrettini, aged 28, grabbed attention last year when he began dating Satta in January. The well-known figure in Italy has previously opened up about her active sex life, claiming it caused injuries to her former partner, footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng, due to their frequent intimate encounters.

Upon announcing their separation, Berrettini said: "Melissa Satta and I are no longer together. What I can say is that we had a beautiful, intense relationship and we have great respect for each other. I won't go beyond this, I don't like sharing my private life too much. Nothing special happened.

"I must thank her for this period we lived together very intensely despite all the difficulties." Notably, Satta has been linked with other sports stars before Berrettini, including a relationship with football icon Christian Vieri and later with Boateng, whom she married, reports the Daily Star.

Satta made quite the stir in 2012 when she revealed the impact of her vigorous love life on Boateng's physical condition, saying: "The reason why he is always injured is because we have sex seven to ten times a week. I hate foreplay, I want to go straight for it. I prefer to be on top so that I can be in control."

Despite the candid revelation, Satta was quick to clarify her stance, telling Gazzetta dello Sport: "You have to be very careful about what you say in football, especially when it comes to sex. Just because we have sex so often doesn't make me a nymphomaniac."

In another turn, last year Satta addressed rumours suggesting she was behind tennis star Berrettini's injury, pointing out to Vanity Fair that his issue was a recurrence from 2021: "Too bad it's an injury in the same place as the one in 2021, when I didn't know him. But in any case, do I really have to answer to these people?"

Berrettini's journey to the Wimbledon final in 2021 was nothing short of remarkable, overcoming Guido Pella, Botic van de Zandschulp, Aljaz Bedene, Ilya Ivashka, and Felix Auger Aliassime. Yet, his clash with the legendary Novak Djokovic in the final proved too much.

Despite a thrilling first-set victory of 7-6(7-4), Berrettini couldn't maintain the momentum, succumbing to three consecutive set defeats of 4-6, 4-6, and 3-6, leaving Wimbledon without the coveted trophy. Missing the 2022 event and only reaching the fourth round in 2023, Berrettini is eager to reclaim his former glory, starting with his upcoming match against Marton Fucsovics at Court 12 on Monday.
