Paralympic hero Chris Hallam passes away
CHRIS HALLAM MBE, a pioneer of disabled sport, has died.
Hallam, who was in his late forties, won medals for swimming and wheelchair racing in the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Paralympics.
The athlete, who lived in Pontypool, Torfaen, twice won the London Marathon, setting course records.
Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson said: “He was the reason we are where we are in wheelchair racing.”
