West Ham chairmen flee London Stadium as fans riot – Children shelter in Burnley dugout
WEST HAM chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan were forced to flee the London Stadium as crowd trouble escalated during the Hammers defeat to Burnley this afternoon.
Hundreds of disgruntled fans then headed towards the director’s box, with co chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan asked to leave the stadium before the final whistle in order to defuse the situation.
With the ugly scenes threatening to spiral out of control, Burnley players gave up their seats on the bench to children in order to protect them from any impending violence.
