Mark Noble tackles a West Ham fan on the London Stadium pitch
Disgruntled West Ham fans invaded the London Stadium pitch to demonstrate against club owners David Gold and David Sullivan during today’s clash with Burnley.
The Hammers were already 1-0 down when a fan caused the match to stop by running on the pitch, gesticulating towards the board members.
With no stewards or police in sight, West Ham captain Mark Noble threw the supporter to the ground and furiously shouted at him while being restrained by goalkeeper Joe Hart.
Team-mate James Collins then led the fan away, but the game was stopped again when other supporters continued their protests against the owners.
The Welsh centre-back was involved in a heated exchange with another invader, while one supporter stole a corner flag and was seen waving it above his head in the centre circle.
Burnley went on to win the game 3-0 while both Gold and Sullivan were asked to leave the stadium before full-time, being escorted away by police as the hostile situation threatened to escalate.
