EXCLUSIVE: City to launch £60m bid for Man United and Liverpool target Lewandowski
ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI is being targeted to lead Pep Guardiola's Manchester City revolution.
Manchester City are set to splash £60million on Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski
City's new supremo is understood to want the prolific Polish international to line up alongside Sergio Aguero as part of a potent new strike force.
And the club's mega rich owners are unlikely to flinch at the prospect of splashing out £60million to try to lure Lewandowski from Guardiola's present club, Bayern Munich.
The Pole, also a target for Manchester United last summer, has been a one man goalscoring machine ever since he moved to Germany, and Borussia Dortmund, in 2010.
And he could be joined by Borussia skipper Mats Hummels, of whom Guardiola is also a fan.
With lingering doubts over the long term fitness of Vincent Kompany, the 28-year-old defender who started his career at Bayern would be a perfect replacement - or even sidekick - for the Belgian.
Whatever happens Guardiola is likely to have a clear-out with the likes of Samir Nasri, Nicolas Otamendi, Martin Demichelis and Wilfried Bony facing the exit door if the new coach is able to bring in the players he wants.
