The Carabao Cup moves another step closer towards the latter stages as Premier League teams populate the fourth round draw.

Nine teams have already booked their place in the next round. Manchester United made a statement with their 7-0 annihilation of Barnsley last week.

Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Tottenham, Preston, Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday are the other teams to have made it through to the next phase of the competition.

But they have been forced to wait a while to discover the identity or their opponents.

Matches have been sporadically taking place in the Carabao Cup due to Champions League fixtures being staged across the continent this midweek.

Arsenal and Liverpool were two of the teams involved in Europe, as the Gunners were held to a goalless draw by Atalanta while the Reds beat Inter Milan in Italy. Mikel Arteta’s men host League One outfit Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night, while Liverpool host West Ham.

Chelsea are favourites to overcome the challenge of fourth-tier Barrow at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, while Manchester City take on Watford. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the Carabao Cup fourth round draw.

Carabao Cup fourth round fixture dates

Fixtures will be played in the week commencing October 28, which has been allocated for the fourth-round games.

Last year’s final saw Liverpool beat Chelsea 1-0 at Wembley, with Virgil van Dijk’s extra-time header securing what proved to their final trophy won under Jurgen Klopp with a youthful side.

Arne Slot will be hoping to follow in those footsteps by seeing off West Ham at Anfield in his first domestic cup tie in English football.
