Bayern Munich chief slams Louis van Gaal over midfielder comments
BAYERN MUNICH chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has hit back at Louis van Gaal for comments made about Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Bastian Schweinsteiger joined Manchester United in the summer
The German World Cup winner left Bayern in the summer to join United for £6.5million, but Van Gaal is seemingly unimpressed with his form this season.
Schweinsteiger, 31, has featured 23 times so far for United in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting two in the process.
He told Sport Bild: "I'm a bit disappointed with Louis, he should leave Bastian alone. He was the one who definitely wanted to sign him.
"Bastian needs a bit of time [to adjust]. You can't just give a verdict on him already. Louis is not known for being the hugely sympathetic type."
