England limped into the knockout stages of Euro 2024 last night as they were held to a goalless draw by Slovenia in their final group game. It was another hugely disappointing performance from the Three Lions, who have failed to impress in any of their matches so far.
Gareth Southgate's men dominated possession but failed to create many real chances, with Harry Kane and Phil Foden forcing easy saves and Bukayo Saka having a goal ruled out for offside. Slovenia sat deep and defended resolutely to earn themselves a point and book their place in the knockout rounds for the very first time.
The result was still enough for England to finish as group winners on five points after winning once and drawing twice. However, it is abundantly clear that improvements will need to be made to avoid a hiding against the first decent side they come up against in the knockout stages.
The Three Lions are among the favourites to win this summer's Euro 2024 tournament and you can get your hands on the brand new Nike home and away kits before the first whistle.

Tomas Chory was shown a straight red card - Czechia's second of the night - and there were 18 yellows brandished throughout the 90 minutes.

Express Sport's Charlie Gordon is the unlucky man in the Deutsche Bank Park rain.
Charlie tells us: "The heavens opened during the second half at Frankfurt Arena, drenching players from both sides and delighting the raucous Romanian support.
"There were nervous looks from fans and journalists when a loud bang erupted - presumably from a lightning bolt hitting the stadium - and there were further claps of thunder thereafter to add an unlikely twist to a scorching day in Germany."
Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has launched a scathing attack on his players following their surprise defeat to Austria.
The former Everton boss did not mince his words, saying: "We started very badly. We did not defend well. We were not aggressive.
"There was a lack of pressure and we lost the ball as well, particularly at the start so it was really very bad. The players ran a lot but not in the positions so it was awful, very bad.
"We did not control the match. The match against France was reasonable as a team, but today it was appalling."
Gary Neville believes Gareth Southgate's treatment of Trent Alexander-Arnold at the Euros would be enough to leave him 'devastated'.
The Liverpool right-back, who has recently been deployed in midfield, was the only player dropped for last night's goalless draw with Serbia.
Speaking on ITV, Neville said: "I do want to mention Trent Alexander-Arnold. I know it’s a big boy’s game and you can be left out of a football match.
"But I do feel that this is the best right-back we’ve ever produced by a million miles in terms of in possession, and he’s now sat on the bench wondering: ‘What the hell’s going on?’.
"He’ll probably be devastated."

Police in Germany are investigating an incident in which a young Croatia fan was allegedly bitten by a woman during a melee for Luka Ivanusec's shirt.
The incident was said to have taken place after Croatia's draw with Italy in Leipzig on Monday night.
A police spokesperson told The Mirror: "We can inform you that a robbery happened around 11:10pm. A 20-year-old man caught the jersey of a player and unknown suspects tried to take it from him.
"An unknown woman bit him on the shoulder, causing the 20-year-old to release the jersey and the suspects to steal it. The 20-year-old was injured and taken to a hospital.
"The criminal police is now investigating on suspicion of robbery."
Anthony Gordon is under no illusion that England are yet to hit their stride at Euro 2024.
Speaking after his cameo appearance from the bench against Slovenia, he said: "Our aim was to make a statement and correct the performances we've had in the last two games.
"I still think we're in that place. We've still got to do better. Luckily for us we've topped the group and we're through, which is the most important thing.
"I just think we can do so much better, that's the problem. We've got such good players and we train so good every day. It's just not clicking.
"Hopefully in the coming games it will because we really need to start dominating games and attacking teams."

Richard Keys has urged the FA to sack Gareth Southgate and replace him with Harry Redknapp before the Euro 2024 knockout stages.
Redknapp has not managed a side at any level since 2017 but Keys is convinced that he would be able to solve England's current problems.
Speaking on beIN Sports, the former Sky Sports presenter said: "Harry Redknapp is sat in Dubai tonight. Give him a call. Do you think he'd be on a plane tomorrow morning? Too right he would."
