Chelsea can offer Leicester three players in swap deal to beat Brighton to Dewsbury-Hall

Chelsea are keen to land Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and could tempt Leicester into selling by offering the Foxes some of their own stars.

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Leicester ace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as they attempt to hijack Brighton’s pursuit of the midfielder. The 25-year-old appeared to be on his way to the AMEX Stadium, with reports suggesting that Seagulls midfielder Jakub Moder would be heading in the opposite direction.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is keen on a reunion with Dewsbury-Hall after working with the Englishman during his solitary campaign in charge at the King Power Stadium, with the Blues reportedly submitting an official bid for the ace on Friday.

And Express Sport takes a look at three Chelsea stars Maresca could dangle in front of his former employers to convince them to sanction Dewsbury-Hall’s departure to Stamford Bridge should the 2015/16 Premier League champions reject the first offer.

Armando Broja

Leicester will need firepower if they are to enjoy a successful season on their return to the Premier League. And Chelsea could put forward Armando Broja, who has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Broja was tipped to star at the top of the game after enjoying a successful loan spell with Southampton three seasons ago. But he has failed to kick on after suffering a serious ACL injury at the end of 2022.

The 22-year-old could struggle to force his way into the Chelsea team next season and may jump at the chance to prove his worth in the Premier League once again in the east Midlands.

Trevoh Chalobah

If Leicester would prefer defensive reinforcements, Chelsea could instead offer them Trevoh Chalobah in exchange for Dewsbury-Hall.

The 24-year-old centre-back appeared to have a big future at Stamford Bridge after starring during Frank Lampard’s first spell in the dugout.

But he has fallen out of favour in recent years and started just 10 Premier League matches under Mauricio Pochettino last season. He is another player who would surely love to resurrect his career elsewhere.

Robert Sanchez

The last time Leicester were in the Premier League, they struggled between the sticks as Danny Ward and Daniel Iversen shared minutes but flattered to deceive when given chances to impress.

Leicester were much more defensively sound last season after bringing in goalkeeper Mads Hermansen from Brondy as they conceded only 41 goals in 46 Championship matches.

While the Dane has been backed to flourish in the Premier League, Leicester would surely welcome the addition of experienced top-flight goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who starred for Brighton before moving to Stamford Bridge. The 26-year-old has fallen behind Djordje Petrovic in the pecking order in west London anyway, meaning the Blues could afford to sacrifice him and bring in a new back-up.
