Dutch football expert explains what Timber could offer Arsenal
Arsenal look set to confirm the signing of Kai Havertz for £65million from Chelsea in the very near future, after a picture was leaked of the German grinning from ear to ear in his new Gunners kit. Havertz is set to complete the move after undergoing a medical once the two sides agreed on a fee.
An announcement is likely to be imminent as social media was sent into a frenzy thanks to a leaked photo of Havertz in Arsenal’s new kit for the 2023/24 season ahead of any confirmation of the deal from either party. The two clubs had fully agreed on a deal that could reach £65m, with the Gunners looking to take advantage of Chelsea’s need to trim their bloated squad.
Mauricio Pochettino has inherited a disjointed team that is in the middle of an exodus owing to their Financial Fair Play concerns, with Havertz joining the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech, Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy out of Stamford Bridge. Chelsea would likely have preferred not to lose Havertz to a local rival, amid interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, but the 24-year-old was set on a move to the Emirates.
He is set to provide competition and cover across the frontline with his capability to play in multiple positions, though could be viewed as Granit Xhaka’s replacement with the Swiss star in talks over a move to Bayer Leverkusen - as Mikel Arteta is clearly a big fan of Havertz.

"Kai has already shown a lot, including winning a Champions League. He is a talented, versatile player and only 24 years old,” Arteta recently told Marca. "Talent has a price and, at Arsenal, we are always interested in young players with experience.
"Again, I'm not talking about players from other clubs, but, in the case of Kai, he has already shown a lot, including a Champions League. He is a talented, versatile player and he is only 24 years old."

Arsenal’s new kit for 2023/2024 is a stylish twist on a classic as it reinvents that mid-1990s vibe. A truly modern-looking shirt with a homage to the past, the Nike kit also includes a nod to the club’s iconic Invincible’s side in the finer details while catching the eye with the lightning bolt motif
Arteta is hoping to pull off a big summer at Arsenal as they look to continue pushing Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, with Havertz likely the first of several big-name acquisitions.
